Lebenslauf

Burak Sattler was born and raised in Freilassing, Upper Bavaria. He studied communication design in Munich after which he worked for different creative enterprises. He now lives and paints in Passau.

Sattler only started his journey of painting in 2019. He attributes his inspiration to great names such as George Condo, Francis Bacon, Jean-Michelle Basquiat, and life itself. The statement “I just want to paint,” reflects the position art and the process of creation take in his life – something fundamentally positive and desirable. The idea behind this mundane expression also became his primary motor to be creatively active. However, this is not the sole aspect of and source for his productivity. The act of painting serves Sattler as an outlet and coping-mechanism, when facing the absurdity of everyday life. “I have met and am constantly surrounded by a lot of clowns in my life – now I just portray them. Thus, they are still a part of my life, only now I can influence their appearance and show how I see them.”

With his developing distinctive personal style, which combines cubist elements, strong colors, and which is living from classical lines, he makes a statement with each piece of art he produces andinfluences his viewers in very personal and diverse ways.

Burak Sattler wurde am 03. Dezember 1987 in Freilassing geboren. Nach seinem erfolgreich absolvierten Design-Studium in München arbeitete er dort in kleineren Kreativ-Betrieben. Heute lebt und wirkt er in Passau.

Zur Malerei fand er im Jahr 2019. Inspiration findet er zum einen in den großen Vorbildern, wie George Condo, Francis Bacon, Jean-Michel Basquiat, etc. Zum anderen im täglichen Leben. Grundsätzlich gilt für ihn die Aussage „Ich will einfach nur malen,“ und damit setzt er ein klares Zeichen, das die Malerei als etwas Begehrenswertes und Positives besetzt. Dies ist aber nicht die einzige Facette, die als Motor für die Kreativität und Produktivität dient. Sattler nutzt die Malerei ebenso als Ventil, als Outlet und Coping-Strategie. „Ich habe so viele Clowns und Witzfiguren in meinem Leben kennengelernt – diese stelle ich nun künstlerisch dar. Sie begleiten mich noch immer, nur jetzt kann ich ihnen meinen Stempel aufdrücken.“

Mit seinem sich charakteristisch herausbildenden Stil, der kubistische Elemente und starke Farben vereint und von einer klaren Linienführung lebt, setzt der Maler mit jedem seiner Gemälde ein Statement, das auf vielfältige Weise auf Betrachtende wirkt.
